Slow and steady wins the race...

This weekend Candace and I painted Connor’s nursery.  We also moved the guestroom furniture into what was once the office.  Elizabeth and Duncan came to get the entertainment center and office desk to take with them to Greensboro.  Painting the wicker furniture black will complete the rooms until we get the baby furniture from mom.

The color Candace chose is a light blue (Go Heels even though that was not her thought when picking it out) for Connor’s nursery with his bathroom being painted a brown color called Milk Chocolate.   The bathroom will be a lot of fun I can hardly contain my excitement.

Candace also finished Connor’s registry at Target on Friday night while I coached soccer.  Speaking of soccer our team had a game Saturday at 2:00 pm.  We went down 1-0 on a set piece midway through the first half, but were able to put two more goals in before halftime for a 2-1 lead halfway through the game.  At about the 25-minute mark in the second half our center mid played a great through ball to our striker.  Their defender took our striker down in the box and we were awarded a penalty kick, which we converted to go up 3-1.  At about the 30-minute mark our center mid went in with a hard tackle on one of their players and was given a direct yellow for the tackle even though he got all ball with the tackle.   The opposing coach went totally crazy demanding a red card (automatic ejection for you non-soccer people out there) for the tackle.  He began to yell at the ref and even entered the field.   The ref ejected the coach and upon doing so the coach told his players to come off the field because they would not play anymore.  The ref called the game with 9 minutes left in the game.  This was the first time I have ever seen a game called short in my 22 years of playing and coaching soccer.   Win for us I guess…

Sunday I will finish painting the wicker furniture for the guestroom and moving the furniture around and take off Monday with Candace so we can finalize everything.   If anyone would like to help paint the bathroom I am still offering $50 and all the beer you can drink.
