99 bottles of breast milk on the wall...

Attention everyone we are under 100 days.  Full panic mode has been turned on!  The good news is the crib is in so Connor will not have to sleep in the back seat of the car.  We also received our glider which is pretty cool, too.  Once the dresser and bookcase get in we can have all the furniture delivered and the nursery will be done.  We have still not painted the bathroom yet.  I am still hoping it will just magically get pained one day.

The closer we get the closer my fear of puking on Connor while I change my first poo-diaper sets in.  I do not have a strong stomach at all.  If you ask some people they will tell you I have a bottomless stomach, but not a strong one that can take gross stuff.  Candace scoops the dog poop in our yard for crying out loud.  Candace is strong arming me on this matter by telling me she doesn't care if I puke or not.  Apparently, I will be cleaning up puke and baby poop if that happens.  The Ham House is a House of hard knocks let me tell you.  I am considering putting that stuff under your nose that people use so they don't have to smell what they are actually around.  If anyone knows that that stuff is or has some good tips I am all ears.

Holy...

I just looked at the widget to the right and realized that 103 days is only 3 months 1 week and 3 days away. Man time flies and I feel like we still have a bazillion things to do. Yeah, I used the word bazillion that does not even exist or have any tangible value associated with it.

This weekend we did not do much with regards to baby prep. The crib is in as well as the glider. Sunday we decided to pick up the glider from store I will now call Sucky Baby USA. They were closed ALL day on Sunday! Perhaps, we should have called down there to see if they were open, but how many retail stores are closed on Sundays ALL day anymore? That sucked. We still need to paint the bathroom and I need to install some more closet organizers in the nursery, some shoe organizers for Candace, and figure out how to double the amount of stuff we can keep in the master closet.

The soccer team won 5-0 this weekend. No excitement there just a good game against a poor team.

Slow and steady wins the race...

This weekend Candace and I painted Connor’s nursery.  We also moved the guestroom furniture into what was once the office.  Elizabeth and Duncan came to get the entertainment center and office desk to take with them to Greensboro.  Painting the wicker furniture black will complete the rooms until we get the baby furniture from mom.

The color Candace chose is a light blue (Go Heels even though that was not her thought when picking it out) for Connor’s nursery with his bathroom being painted a brown color called Milk Chocolate.   The bathroom will be a lot of fun I can hardly contain my excitement.

Candace also finished Connor’s registry at Target on Friday night while I coached soccer.  Speaking of soccer our team had a game Saturday at 2:00 pm.  We went down 1-0 on a set piece midway through the first half, but were able to put two more goals in before halftime for a 2-1 lead halfway through the game.  At about the 25-minute mark in the second half our center mid played a great through ball to our striker.  Their defender took our striker down in the box and we were awarded a penalty kick, which we converted to go up 3-1.  At about the 30-minute mark our center mid went in with a hard tackle on one of their players and was given a direct yellow for the tackle even though he got all ball with the tackle.   The opposing coach went totally crazy demanding a red card (automatic ejection for you non-soccer people out there) for the tackle.  He began to yell at the ref and even entered the field.   The ref ejected the coach and upon doing so the coach told his players to come off the field because they would not play anymore.  The ref called the game with 9 minutes left in the game.  This was the first time I have ever seen a game called short in my 22 years of playing and coaching soccer.   Win for us I guess…

Sunday I will finish painting the wicker furniture for the guestroom and moving the furniture around and take off Monday with Candace so we can finalize everything.   If anyone would like to help paint the bathroom I am still offering $50 and all the beer you can drink.

I suck, I know.

I know I have not posted frequently enough or even at all. I apologize to all our faithful readers. I realized that I had been overly slack when Phil Graham made a comment to me yesterday. I had no idea that guy did anything besides work and go home until he told me to update the blog yesterday. So, this one is for the Phil’s out there.

There isn’t a damn thing going on that most of you don’t know about all ready! Candace is still pregnant and now she has a cold. Whippity-freaking-doo! Okay, I am kidding. A lot is going on.

The other weekend we moved furniture into the garage for easy removal for the people who are taking it off our hands. Thanks go out to Jared “Rock” Proctor for coming over and helping me out with the heavy lifting and later on beer drinking.

The desk was the most challenging and we ended up having to take the legs off to get it into the garage. Now I have to wait until Duncan comes to pick that up for use in their new house. We moved the guestroom furniture into the garage only to find out that Duncan will be taking the black entertainment chest to Greensboro also, so now we will be moving the guestroom furniture back. We will also have to paint the furniture to match the guestroom since it is white wicker furniture and that will not match anything in that room.

I also installed some shelves in the garage and am about to install some ceiling baskets that I have. That should be death defying and fun.

I have to give the biggest thanks to Greg Whitcomb (see
http://babywhitcomb.blogspot.com/ ) for more info on Lori and his baby that is due a week before Connor. I also hate Greg because their nursery is totally done and our nursery is far from it. Greg came over last Saturday and helped wire the nursery for an overhead light, and then helped me (did all the work while I drank) install a fan. Afterwards, we all went over to the Deaton house (see www.dennydeaton.com ) and drank the night away (minus Candace and Lori) while eating a delicious meal prepared by Denny and Niki. We finally got to see their beautiful daughter Dylan Rose Deaton. That might be the cutest kid I have ever seen.

That brings us to now. We have to remove furniture, rearrange a bunch of crap, paint, and then wait for baby furniture to arrive.
