Two weekends ago Candace and I visited my mom at her store to pick out furniture for Connor’s nursery. For those of you that do not know, my mom is the executive manager at Boyle’s Furniture Store here in Charlotte.
The crib we picked out is from the Stanley Furniture: Young American collection. It is called the Madison Crib. We really wanted to get the matching dresser, but Candace and I both agree it is a little too girly for Connor. We decided to go with the dresser from the American Modern Collection (I think) instead. Pictures of what we are ordering are below. We are also looking at a glider for the nursery but cannot decide what to order.
This past weekend I was in Vegas all weekend. We left Thursday after work and returned on Sunday evening. Needless to say, Vegas put a hurting on me and I am extremely lucky to have a wife like Candace who takes the initiative to get stuff done even while I am away. Candace and her friend Lena (mother of 3 all age 4 or under) went to Babies R Us and got us registered. You can view our registry at www.babiesrus.com and use Baby Registry # 70985787 or just look up by last name in the state of NC. Candace also began to strip the wallpaper from our guest bathroom so we can begin painting Connor’s bathroom, and she picked out the colors for his nursery. We are going with a blue and brown color scheme. I have to admit it looks pretty awesome.
This weekend is one of the last weekends I have open before the spring soccer season starts so we have a lot to do. We are going to try and deliver the pieces of furniture to the people that have requested (accepted) them. The loveseat in our office will go down to Ballantyne for Kim and Marcos. The office desk will go back to mom and dad in Statesville. Finally, the guestroom furniture will go to Rosalyn and Bill in Greensboro. DISCLAIMER: Most of the furniture is on loan until we get a new house in another year or two. It’s a good thing gas prices aren’t too high and we don’t drive an SUV. Once we get all that done we can begin rearranging the rooms.
